Show the log for the repository root: only if those have a 'copy from
url' shown, then those are real copies and would show up in the rev graph.

Ok, so my guess was right. But what about the revisions under tags /
branches that are real copies. Shouldn't they be visible as a hierarchy?

Yes, that's the reason: those were not real 'copies', i.e., not real
branches or tags, so the rev graph doesn't show them as such.

Currently it shows something like this:

1

| 9 (tags/tag2)
8----------|
|
7
| 6
| 5 (/tags/tag1)
4----------|

I think I might have found the reason why I doesn't display the hierarchy as
I expect it. The first revisions under "tags" and "branches" were not
created by a "Branch / Tag" operation, but instead by a "Add" operation
follow by an "Import". But some other newer revisions were created by a
"Branch / Tag" operation based on "trunk" Could this be the reason for my
problem?

New features will never get to the stable branch. Otherwise it wouldn't
be a stable branch anymore.
But it is included in the last 1.6.x nightly build.

Thanks for the explanation. Is it possible for me to tell whether the following feature was included in that last 1.6.x release?

- NEW: Adjusting externals to a fixed revision when branching/tagging. (Stefan)

Is there any chance at all that this feature could be included in a 1.6.x formal release? It would be very useful for us. If not, we could use the nightly if it was included there.

Best regards

David

That was the last nightly build which linked against svn 1.6.x. The TSVN
trunk now links against the svn trunk (tagged to a specific revision
since the API still changes and I don't like to have a broken build
every few days).

And no, there won't be any more nightlies built against svn 1.6.x.

Yes. Also, it looks like /latest/win32/full-1.6.x was a one-off build on
15th May (for a particular purpose?). Stefan could probably shed more light
on whether that was a good build, and whether we'll get any more updated
nightlies against 1.6 before Q3/Q4 2010.

I think the suffix part of the filename is what really matters, which
indicates the version of the subversion libraries the release is linked to:

full-1.6.x/TortoiseSVN-1.6.99.19540-dev-x64-svn-1.6.12-dev.msi -> 1.6.12
fill/TortoiseSVN-1.6.99.19614-dev-x64-svn-1.7.0-dev.msi -> 1.7.0

It's also explained in the Readme file:
http://nightlybuilds.tortoisesvn.net/latest/Readme.txt

This should also answer your second question :)

Message Hi Robin

Thanks for pointing me to the nightly builds. I haven't used these before and so have a few questions.

Firstly, the version numbers are 1.6.x (e.g. 1.6.99.19285). Does this mean that they still use Subversion 1.6.x, or could they be using 1.7? (I don't really want to change the wc format).

Secondly, I can see directories /latest/win32/full-1.6.x and /latest/win32/full. What is the difference please?

I'm using a nightly purely so I can have this feature now. YMMV,
but 1.6.99.19285 is feeling quite stable for me.

Typically the 1.6.x releases are bugfix releases only. New features
appear only when the second digit of the version number is increased.
But it is up to Stefan to decide what he wants to port to the stable
branch.

When 1.7 is released, probably Q3/Q4 2010. Release date is dependent
on Subversion 1.7 which is still in development.
