The 1.6.15 version msi which I had installed previously when the problem
was experienced has the revision number:
{F301F842-B40C-43E9-A139-4651FA3E2FD1} if that means anything to you.

Below is the version information for what is working now (without the
debugger - exception problem, on three computers actively used):

TortoiseSVN 1.6.14, Build 21012 - 64 Bit , 2011/03/18 16:33:54
Subversion 1.6.16,
apr 1.3.8
apr-utils 1.3.9
neon 0.29.5
OpenSSL 1.0.0d 8 Feb 2011
zlib 1.2.5

If the information is still required, I can re-install the broken
version and get its version information from the dialog box for you.

We had some problems reported here that turned out to be issues with
some proxies caching the wrong files. Check the version in the TSVN
about dialog - the user who reported similar issues before had the
correct msi filename, but it contained the wrong version due to his
proxy caching messed up. He 'solved' the problem by using an anonymous
proxy and downloading the file again.

I can confirm that I now have 1.6.14.21012 64 bit installed, and I am
not experiencing the problem.

I was experiencing the problem this morning, until I uninstalled the
version I was using, which I have always kept religiously up-to-date
with the suggestions that Tortoise pops up. I did check the version I
had, and I believe that it was in fact 1.6.15.21042. Both my colleagues
are running 1.6.14 as well, without the problem. I am the "guinea pig"
at our operation. For more information, I am also running IVTortoise -
this may (or may not) be an interaction problem.

Something is not right here: that issue was fixed with 1.6.15 and was
present in 1.6.14. Please make sure you don't confuse the versions.

Strange issue with 1.6.15

Message Thank you for a very useful package.

After installing Tortoise 1.6.15 (64 bit), I experienced a strange
problem. While debugging my application (using Windows Visual Studio
2010 on Windows 7), the debugger would intercept an (unhandled)
exception. This exception's callback stack includes only Windows .dlls,
the only ones of note in the stack were networkitemfactory.dll and
shlwapi.dll and ole32.dll.

Since this behaviour occurred as a function of time after my app was
launched, and my colleagues had no troubles running the same code, I
uninstalled tortoise (which my version was newer than my colleagues),
and installed an earlier version (1.6.14). Since then, my problem has
vanished, so I conclude that something strange was happening with 1.6.15.
